Dive Deeper in Faith & Wellness

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” (3 John 1:2, KJV)

Dear friend,

In our ongoing Q&A series, I’m excited to share this week’s most powerful questions—and the answers that I believe will bless and encourage you on your wellness journey!

Before we dive in, I wanted to share a quick testimony from one of our Faithful & Fit 60 Challenge friends:

“Hello Erin, I just wanted to thank you for the email you sent about how much water I should be drinking each day and the recommended foods. I actually stopped by Walmart right after work that same day, picked up everything you suggested, and started the next morning—no hesitation. I'm not kidding when I say that drinking 30 ounces of water first thing in the morning, just like you recommended, made a huge difference. I drank it on an empty stomach, and about 20 minutes later, I was already heading to the restroom. I kept up that routine all week, and my bowel movements have been amazing every day since. Since starting, I've lost three pounds—probably not fat, but everything my body needed to clear out. I feel so much better. My gut feels lighter, and I genuinely feel more energized and comfortable. I'm hopeful this will continue to flush out what my body doesn’t need, and fingers crossed that my pant size goes down too! Thank you so much for your encouragement and for keeping things natural. I honestly didn’t realize something as simple as drinking water could have this kind of impact. It’s amazing. Thank you so much!”

These kinds of testimonies are my favorite—simple, practical, and impactful. Something as basic as drinking enough water can truly change your health. I know this firsthand. I lived an unhealthy lifestyle for years, relying on medication to get by. But when I embraced God’s heart for my whole health—spirit, soul, and body (3 John 2)—everything began to shift. By changing what I fed my body, renewing my mind with God’s Word, and surrendering each area of life to Him, healing came naturally. Over time, I no longer needed medications, and doctor visits became rare.

Please hear me clearly: there’s no shame or condemnation if you’re in a season where you need medical support. I’m simply sharing what God has done in my life, and to know that His promises remain true for each one of us.

Let's dive into our Q&A!

Q: How do I incorporate drinking the required ounces of water daily?

Great question! First, knowing why water is important motivates me to make it a habit. Here are just a few benefits:

  1. Supports energy and digestion: Water hydrates your organs, improves energy, and promotes regular bowel movements—which directly affect your mental and physical well-being.

  2. Flushes toxins and supports skin and weight health: Water helps your body detox, clears skin, boosts focus, and reduces brain fog.

  3. Improves joint, muscle, and heart function: It also stabilizes blood sugar, lubricates joints, and reduces stress on the heart.

My personal tips:

  • Start your day with a large glass of water.

  • Carry a refillable water bottle to sip throughout the day.

  • Infuse it naturally with lemon, cucumber, mint, or berries if you need flavor—skip the artificial stuff.

  • Remember: tea and coffee don’t count as water.

Let’s choose to nourish our bodies with what’s good—not just what tastes good. Water is a gift!

Q: How do you read, understand, and study the Bible daily?

This is such a meaningful question.

How I read the Bible:

I love to start my day with the Word. I’ve created a quiet space where I meet with God each morning: coffee, blanket, and Bible in hand. Find a rhythm for your life, and cultivate this time daily. Invite God and ask Him to show you a routine that works well for you.

You can follow a:

  • Reading plan (e.g., Bible in a Year)

  • Topical study (e.g., God’s love, healing, identity)

  • Chronological reading

  • Or ask God what He wants you to read each day.

How I understand the Bible:

Understanding God’s truth is essential for our personal growth. Early on, I struggled to reconcile the Old and New Testament views of God. It wasn’t until I found solid Bible teachers—like Andrew Wommack—that I understood the full Gospel. His teachings revealed the true, unchanging nature of our good God. Find a bible teacher who’s teaching the full truth (not personal doctrines or religious views), so you can fully grasp the balanced Word of God. God’s Word is balanced and it complements itself—it doesn’t contradict itself. If you see or hear a teaching that’s contradicting, find the truth, study it, ask Holy Spirit to teach you, and find a Bible teacher you trust who has a teaching on this topic.

How I study the Bible:

I use resources like:

  • E-Sword

  • Blue Letter Bible

These apps are so helpful in understanding the original language of Scripture. You can look up the Hebrew and Greek translation of every word in the Bible, which has thoroughly enriched my experience and understanding.

For example. Isaiah 26:3 says, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” (KJV). The Hebrew text here actually says, “You will keep him in shalom shalom, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

This word shalom means safe, well, happy, welfare, health, prosperity, peace, favor, good health, perfect rest, safe, wholly. This is the Lord’s way of saying, “Trust Me, and every area of your life will prosper and be at peace.” You really couldn’t add anything else to this promise—it’s complete in and of itself. But you don’t see the fullness of this promise by just reading it as “perfect peace.” This is why I love to look up the Greek and Hebrew—the language is so much deeper and richer—each word containing it's own hidden treasures.

I prefer the KJV for study because of its transparency (italicizing added words) and closeness to the original text. But regardless of the version, understanding comes by the Holy Spirit. The Bible isn’t just information—it becomes revelation through the Holy Spirit (2 Tim. 3:16). When I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, I began to understand the Bible more completely, and He helped me to apply it to my life in a practical way.
