In my blog, we talk about how to live a life strengthened with God's power and ability in your every day life.
How? Through relationship with God the Father, the Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit; by applying the wisdom He provides in Scripture to every area of life.
“But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” (Psalm 1:2-3, KJV)
Dear Friend,
What would this “tree of life” look like in your life?
Can you see yourself as a healthy, prosperous tree that bears fruit in every season—regardless of your circumstances? That’s exactly what God wants for you and what He wants to help you become. The Word and the Holy Spirit can transform you into that tree—stable, nourished, fruitful, and unshakable.
I know this is true because I’m living proof. My journey included drug addiction, poor health, financial chaos, depression, anxiety, broken relationships, and more. But through the daily renewing of my mind, slowly and steadily, I became rooted in God’s truth. I began to live out His Word, and I was transformed.
This transformation didn’t happen overnight. It came from taking small but intentional steps with God’s help. According to Dr. Caroline Leaf, it takes about 63 days to fully rewire your brain—to break toxic patterns and establish new ones that feel natural and aligned with God’s truth. You can utilize the power of you mind to replace negative thoughts and behaviors with positive ones and completely reset your daily patterns.
Romans 12:2 says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
God’s will for your life is good, acceptable, and perfect. And the way we begin to walk in that will is by letting Him renew our minds and reset our lifestyle—spirit, soul, and body.
If you're ready for change, here's a simple three-step process I aim to live by:
Look honestly at your life. Ask yourself:
Is this habit or mindset helping me grow, or is it holding me back?
Is this producing peace and purpose in my life—or fear and frustration?
Make a list of harmful and helpful thoughts and behaviors. Then prayerfully begin to replace the toxic ones. For example:
Replace toxic thoughts like this:
“I’ll never change.”
With:
“With God, all things are possible. I am being renewed daily.”
Replace harmful behaviors like this:
People-pleasing, overthinking, or scrolling on your phone to escape or avoid life.
With:
Journaling, prayer, setting healthy boundaries, or taking a peaceful walk with the Lord.
God has given you the Holy Spirit and your conscience to guide you. When something doesn’t feel right, pause and ask the Lord for wisdom. Trust His voice within you. Proverbs 3:5-6 in the Passion Translation says:
"Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go."
This isn’t about striving or checking boxes. You’re not doing this alone. When you rely on the Lord, you will succeed.
I encourage you to take this seriously—but not as a burden. This process in my life was progressive; a journey of growing in intimacy with God, and letting Him guide me through each step of the way—not me trying to force my fruitfulness (even though I wanted my life to change instantly). Let this process be a beautiful invitation to experience God’s transforming power in your life.
Whenever you have a few minutes, take some time to be with the Lord. Review the list I provided at the bottom of this blog of harmful behaviors verses helpful behaviors. Write down any thoughts or behaviors that may be harmful and you want to grow in. Next, write down healthy and helpful ways that you can replace them.
Every moment of every day, invite God to help you through this process. As you renew your mind, reinforce the truth, and stay rooted in the Word, you’ll be surprised at how much fruit begins to grow in your life. In this journey, you're completely rewiring your brain so that these replacement thoughts and behaviors become natural to you. A total lifestyle reset will commence so that 30 days, 60 days, one year from now, you'll look back and not even recognize the old you.
You really can become that tree that never withers. The one that flourishes and prospers in every season.
