Dear Friend,
If you could achieve anything in life without limitations, what would it be? Imagine that perfect outcome. Now, realize that God not only wants to help you reach that outcome but to do even more than you can imagine.
When you were born again, you received a new identity, heart, life, and potential. "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; the new has come." (2 Corinthians 5:17)
But how do we live in this new identity? It’s not through our efforts or religion but through a relationship with God. Jesus tells us in John 15 that we must "abide" in Him to bear fruit. To abide means to stay close, remain, and seek Him continually.
Not everyone is transformed by their faith, but when we truly abide, our lives change. As we renew our minds and draw closer to God, His promises of peace, joy, healing, and abundance become realities in our lives.
My life remained unchanged until I sought God with all my heart. I personalized "abiding" into four keys: Relationship with God, Reverence for God, Reliance on the Holy Spirit, and Responding in faith. These keys helped me walk in my new identity in Christ and bear fruit.
When we abide in Christ, the perfect outcome for our lives unfolds effortlessly. God’s plans for you are greater than you can imagine. Abide in Him, and watch Him do the rest.
“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:4-5)
Praying that His transforming love would become more and more real in your life.
Blessing in Christ,
Erin Weisbrodt
