What Does the Bible Say About Gender, Marriage, and Abortion?

February 26, 20247 min read

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)

Dear Friend,

You may not know it, but your faith is making a difference in our world and in your community!

I recently celebrated my 12-year sobriety date, which means I've been drug-free for 12 years. Praise God!

This anniversary always brings time of reflection and thanksgiving in my life. Reflecting on how far God has brought me, and thanksgiving for a lot of second chances.

I haven't done anything perfectly in my life—ever. Yet, God still loves me and accepts me thanks to my faith in Jesus Christ.

Your faith in Jesus cleanses you from a lifetime of sin, and presents you spotless and blameless before God. You have been delivered from the power of darkness, and translated into the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (Col. 1:13). Your faith fills you with spiritual light and power that only those who believe in Jesus can possess.

Our world is hurting and lost and they need your light.

Recently, Greg and I had the privilege of traveling to California and Florida. The trips were great, but I regret to reflect on how many people we encountered that were lost and confused.

Men dressed as women. Women dressed as men. Same sex marriages with children by their side. They didn't have the light of God and His truth to guide their life.

God has set clear boundaries for mankind in His Word and the truth in God's Word has not passed away. Jesus said, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.” (Matthew 24:35)

Many people that I've talked to think that "we've evolved past the knowledge and wisdom of God, so we don't need to live according to the Bible anymore." The Bible makes it clear that thinking that way is prideful and arrogant, and it only leads to further deception and demonic activity in your life (James 4:4-8).

The United States of America was founded on Biblical principles and morality and only those things have caused our nation and our families to grow and prosper.

I am one person out of billions that chose to live contrary to God's commandments, and let me tell you, it did not bring blessing and freedom to my life. It brought bondage, hopelessness, sorrow, and death.

I would like to provide Biblical truth in an attempt to replace the mainstream media's lies and agenda. God makes these points clear through His Word:

  • Truth: God's Word (the Bible) is truth, not our personal agenda. “Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.” (John 17:17)

  • Freedom: When we know the truth and continue in it, we will discover freedom. “So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”” (John 8:31-32)

  • Lifestyle Choices: Faith in God is proved by our corresponding lifestyle (James 2:14-26). “You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works;” (James 2:22)

  • Gender: God created two sexes, male and female, which is genetically discovered through X and Y chromosomes within the body. “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:27)

  • Marriage: Marriage is between a man and a woman. “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.” (Leviticus 18:22)

  • Bestiality: “And you shall not lie with any animal and so make yourself unclean with it, neither shall any woman give herself to an animal to lie with it: it is perversion.” (Leviticus 18:23)

  • Abortion: Abortion and the killing of infants is not God's will. God has a plan and a purpose for every child's life. “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” (Psalms 139:13-14)

    • “You shall not give any of your children to offer them to Molech, and so profane the name of your God: I am the LORD.” (Leviticus 18:21)

    • Satan has been trying to kill children since the beginning of time. In the Old Testament, people used their children as sacrifices to Molech - the god of the Ammonites and Phoenicians to whom some Israelites sacrificed their infants in the valley of Hinnom. Abortion is a modern, medical term that tries to twist murder into making it a "woman's choice."

Many of you know my story, but some of you don't. I participated in most of these "lifestyle choices" and it was pure torment. I was in bondage, but the world told me I was choosing "freedom" and "love." True love is telling someone the truth in love. After I got sober, I had many years of recovering from the emotional trauma and torment of my lifestyle choices.

While the world is trying to cram these lifestyle choices and rights into the minds of our brothers, sisters, and our innocent children, they are corrupting the family model that God has set; the boundaries that God has laid for moral, right living, and natural law.

What fruit have these things produced in our nation? In our schools? In our families? It's only led to more godlessness and lawlessness. Only godly and moral living will exalt our nation.

“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” (Proverbs 14:34)

As I walked the streets of California, my heart melted as I looked into the eyes of so many people who were lost, hurting, and searching for the truth.

The media doesn't tell you the damage it causes to children in same-sex homes. Or the male who transitioned to being a woman, and now he recognizes his error and feels lost, suicidal, and hopeless for the choices he made. Or the woman who's had an abortion and left her husband to be with a woman. The suicide and depression rate in our nation has skyrocketed, and now there are news of people trying to pass bestiality and pedophilia as lawful.

On the plane ride home from our two-week trip, I was reading my Bible. After the plane landed, the man sitting next to me looked into my eyes and said, "I saw you reading your Word. Thank you, I really needed that. I'm headed to do a funeral."

I didn't have to do or say anything, but just by believing and standing for godliness, God allowed His light within me to shine to the seat next to me and touch this man's life.

After I got sober from drugs, I didn't make a grand decision to become a minister and dedicate myself to godliness and moral living. I just decided to believe in God, to read the Bible, and I determined that God knew more than I did. I surrendered and submitted my will to His will.

God took my ungodly, sinful life, and He gave me a new heart. He surrounded me with people that would teach me the truth. His Word and Spirit taught me and led me to a life of peace, joy, and blessing. Slowly, darkness and deception left my life, and God filled me with His uncontainable light and unconditional love for people.

The end of the Bible makes it clear that Jesus Christ is coming back soon, and we will all stand before the throne of God to give account for our lives on earth.

“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.” (Revelation 20:12-13)

Dear ones, I encourage you to let your light shine today. If you know Jesus Christ and He is the Lord of your life, let your light shine. Our world needs it desperately. When you make an effort to know God and live according to His Word, you will be blessed, and you will make a difference in our world.

“Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” (Revelation 22:14)

God bless you and stay steadfast in your faith! You will receive your reward!
