Dear Friend,

Do you have a positive expectation for the year ahead? Who do you want to become in 2024?

The Bible teaches in multiple places that a positive vision or expectation for your future is essential to personal growth and maturity in the Kingdom of God. Proverbs 23:7, 29:18 and Habakkuk 2:2-3 are just a few.

And the LORD answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. [3] For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay. (Habakkuk 2:2-3 ESV)

Expect great things in the year ahead because God is always drawing us to deeper relationship with Him. Why? So that we can grow in intimacy with Him and discover the goodness and fullness that He always intended our life to have. The more we grow in our relationship with God, the more we will walk in freedom, discover our purpose, and fulfill our destiny.

Salvation through Jesus Christ includes much more than eternal life. It includes deliverance of every kind: forgiveness, relationship, healing, prosperity, and peace. Faith in Jesus Christ will save your earthly life and give you purpose! The more we grow in our relationship with God, the more we will discover the life-transforming power of our faith on earth.

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. (Matthew 6:33 ESV)

If we commit to anything in the year ahead, let us first prioritize our relationship with God. When we have an intimate relationship with God through the Word and Spirit, everything else that you need in this earthly life will fall into place. Above all else, God desires to be in relationship with you. Intimacy with Him is the most satisfying, life-giving, restoring possession that I have found in this lifetime.

As you and I enter into a New Year, let’s thank God for all the amazing things He’s done in our lives in 2023. Let us also ask Him some vital questions that will bring further growth and maturity to our lives in 2024. 

Some of the questions that I am asking God are:

• What are you teaching me in this season?

• Who do I need to become to do all that you’ve called me to do?

• What can I do today to start taking steps in that direction?

In everything that you set your hands to in 2024, do it as unto the Lord, and rely on your relationship with Him. This is where the believer finds wisdom, help, comfort, and strength to run our race and finish it with strength!
